THE LORDSHIP OF CHRIST

"Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."

 The Name that was given to Him was not Jesus. The name Jesus was given to him at His birth. Even to this day, people answer the name Jesus. Christ was the name He assumed when He became full of the Spirit. 'LORD' was conferred upon Him.
That is the Name: LORD

Many Christians have a revelation of Jesus as Christ,  but they do not know Him as Lord. Lord refers to someone who is master, ruler, sovereign controller. It gives you a picture of one, who either by his own power, or your permission, has unrestrained access to everything about your life.

We all say Jesus is Lord, but is He really Lord in our lives? The clearest measure of the Lordship of Christ in your life is  the dominion of the Word of God in you. If you say Jesus is Lord of your life, all I need to do is look at you and check to what extent your life is a reflection of obedience to God's word,  because this Jesus we speak of is the Living Logos.

Another measure of the Lordship of Christ in you is SURRENDER; Surrender to His will. Jesus is not Lord of your life if you cannot surrender all to Him; your finances, your academics, your relationships, your emotions, your intellect, etc. Any area you cannot surrender to Him is the idol in your life, and that is the area the devil attacks. The devil can only tempt or attack you in those areas that are not covered by the Lordship of Christ.
The Bible says
"Submit yourself to God,  resist the devil and he will flee from you."

 The devil will not flee because of your ability to resist him. He flees because of the power of the One that backs you; the power of the One you submit to.

Surrender all to Jesus,  and see how your life will turn around for good. The reason many are stressed and overwhelmed is because they try to do everything by by their own power. Absolute surrender births complete rest and peace. SELF must die if Jesus will be Lord of your life. Your will must be put down,  for His will to be done in your life.

Get to a point where whatever instruction God gives you, your response is 'Yes Sir'. He instructs you to empty your account and you immediately comply. He tells you to pack your things and move to a particular location and you immediately obey.
When you have lost the ability to tell God 'no', He is indeed Lord of Your life!!!
